6 -- Echo Park
Author: Michael Connelly
Date finished: 01/31/2009
My thoughts: I love Connelly's Harry Bosch novels and this one didn't disappoint. A case from 1993 that Bosch never solved comes back into play when a serial killer takes credit for the murder. Harry is called in to take the killer's confession and learns that a clue he and his partner might have missed could have prevented the subsequent murders. Connelly creates suspense right up to the final conclusion. Just the right amount of romance (a teeny tiny bit) thrown in for good measure.

5 - Last Kiss Goodbye
Finished: 01/27/09
My thoughts: This book is a Harlequin Romance and as such was okay. I wanted to read it because it was set in Appalachia. It is what it is.

4 -- The Skin Gods
Author: Robert Montanari
finished: 01/22/09
My thoughts: Well, my first thought was that I'd never finish this book. It seemed like it took me for EVER to get into and then another 2 or 3 days to finish. I think that since it took so long, I got confused on some of the plot lines and clues. I did pick up on the police connection, but not completely. Anyway, this was a good book, and I'll probably try another by this author.

2 -- The Sleeping Doll
Author: Jeffery Deaver
Finished: 01/08/2009
My thoughts: I didn't realize that Jeffery Deaver had a 'character' other than Lincoln Rhyme, but I think I like Kathryn Dance a little bit better. It may be because I haven't read a Lincoln Rhyme book in awhile or it may be that I like female lead characters more. That being said, this was a good read overall. My only complaint is that there may have been a couple of twists and turns too many for the book to be believable. Recommended.

1 -- The Woman Next Door
Author: Barbara Delinsky
Finished: 01/02/09
My thoughts: I liked this more than most by this author. About 3 married couples and a widower all living in a quiet suburban neighborhood. Told alternately through different point of views, this book pulled me in. One couple is having trouble conceiving. Another couple's marriage is threatened by the husband's philandering. The third couple has a strong, but unconventional marriage. When the wives learn that the widow next door is pregnant, all sorts of speculating begins.
