And it's been one hell of a week so far. Returned home on Sunday from a wonderful weekend at the beach. Can I just say that Gulf Shores is beautiful. I love it in late April/early May before all the crowds descend.
On the way home I got a call from my son. (He and his girlfriend and their dog and cat moved home from college while I was away and that's a story for another day!). The bathroom was flooding. YUCK! Not the best thing to return to. The plumber arrived early Monday morning. $1600 and 8 hours later we were finally back to flushing. I guess I can't complain. The septic tank is 20 years old and has never been pumped and I've never had a problem. Hope it's good for another 20 years!
The rest of the week should be a breeze. Of course, Friday is field day at school, so I'll be hot and tired by days end. But it's all about the kiddos and they will have a BLAST!

J is for Job
J is for Job! Right now I have a part time one and it's ending in May. I'm looking. I think I'm looking hard, but so far I haven't found anything. Am I being a Job Snob? Am I overlooking jobs that I think are 'beneath' me? Maybe so. Maybe I'm not desperate enough yet. Maybe I'll get there soon. Like when this part time job ends and I have to go back on unemployment. While unemployment is a blessing, it only pays the bills. And it really only barely pays the bills. Guess I'll be eating lots of beans and rice! That's okay because I love beans! and I'll learn to love rice.

The week in review
How did my week go? Overall it was a pretty good week. Went shopping on MLK day and had a wonderful lunch with my bff. The kids were in a pretty good mood at school this week. A few incidences, but no real problems. I can't decide if I like working with the little ones in pre-k or if I'm liking the older 4th and 5th graders. what I do know is that I need to brush up on my math skills if I'm gonna help them though. I'm really afraid that I'll tell them something wrong. You know they do things a lot differently now than they did when I was in 4th and 5th grade. I don't want to mess up. Take my cues from the teachers and hopefully everything will be okay.
I'm still reading The Girl Who Played with Fire and loving every minute of it. Not sure if I like it more than Tattoo, but it's equally as good. Right now, I'm missing Salander, but I know she'll be back.
Cooking today and it's smelling good! Baked tilapia with rosemary and feta cheese, lima beans and candied sweet potatoes. Yum

Just stuff
After snow days on Monday and Tuesday we went back to school on Wednesday. I was ready and oddly enough so were the children. They seemed to be glad to be in school. Maybe they were as bored with laying around at home as I was. So it was a short week, only 3 days and now we have a 3 day weekend for the MLK holiday on Monday.
Tonight is Chinese and a movie with my good friend. Hopefully her kids will cooperate. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.
Started a book on Wednesday, and have begun to get into it and what happens. 3, yes I said 3 books that I had on hold at the library came in. So...gotta put down my book and start reading the library book. But which one to start first? Can't decide if I want to go with Freedom by Jonathan Franzen or A Place Called Wiregrass by Michael Morris. The third book that came is is The Girl Who Played With Fire by Stieg Larsson but I think I'll wait to start it. My sweet cousin Darci from Texas has mailed me her copy, so I won't need to read the library copy.

Day 2
Today was the first day back at work and it was a good day. Went to a basketball game and froze to death. The gym didn't have heat, or they forgot to pay the heating bill, cause by the time I left my toes were frozen. Left right after work and just got home so it was a long day. Watching Millionaire Matchmaker and getting ready for The Fashion Show. I love BravoTV!!
